OK, so is it safe to say that the selfie era has officially gone too far? Besides being utterly stupid in its own right, selfies are now starting to affect animals. Just recently, there was a video that was posted on the internet of a man who was taking a selfie with a shark. The shark was dragged on the beach, and it did not deserve the treatment it received. People, taking selfies of animals on Instagram is just plain absurd and here is why.
FIRST REASON TO NOT DO THIS ON INSTAGRAM: IT CAN HURT THE ANIMALS
This recent video received a lot of criticism, and it comes right after the incident in Argentina. A young dolphin was pulled up from the water by civilians for a selfie, and the dolphin tragically died. A bunch of people on the beach were petting the dolphin, and taking photos of it. However, nobody had the decency to put the dolphin back into the ocean. This led to an outrage by the Argentine Wildlife Foundation in which they said if you see a dolphin on the beach, then return it to the water.
SECOND REASON TO NOT DO THIS ON INSTAGRAM: IT CAN HURT YOU
On the flip side of the story, taking an Instagram selfie with an animal can also seriously hurt you. As a matter of fact, back in August, a Spanish man was actually killed when he was trying to get a photo with a bull. He turned his back to the creature, and it was all she wrote. I don’t mean to speak ill of the dead, but why would you turn your back on a ticked off bull? It can be understood that someone would want to get a once in a lifetime picture of this, but eventually, you need to use common sense.
