If any of you didn’t know, the FBI has asked Apple to make a software that would help them unlock an iPhone of a terrorist. They are trying to discover further information about the Bernardino shooting that took place a while ago. They seem to be intent on getting the help of Tim Cook and his firm, but there might be another way for them. A mobile security company, Vkansee, actually discovered a new way to pass the fingerprint security in the Apple iPhone. With this revelation, the FBI could now consider taking these three steps to get into the hackers iPhone.
FIRST STEP FOR THE FBI: STOP BUGGING TIM COOK
There is no doubt that Tim Cook and Apple don’t want to do this. Tim Cook actually mentioned how if they help them make a software to hack into an iPhone, it could lead to future spy tools. This is something, Tim Cook says, that Apple doesn’t want. To put it simply, the FBI needs to come to the conclusion that Apple would be extremely happy with not helping them.
SECOND STEP FOR THE FBI: TAKE FINGERPRINTS USING PLAY-DOH
Would you believe that Vkansee used Play-Doh to hack into an iPhone? What they did is pressed their finger on the putty, and then they pressed it down on the iPhone and it opened it. So, I guess the FBI needs to order some Play-Doh!
THIRD STEP FOR THE FBI: OPEN THE IPHONE
Once the government agency has pressed their fingerprints into the Play-Doh, they need to take it and press it on the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the Apple phone. It did take Vkansee a few tries, but they eventually unlocked it. Although this is not the most practical method, at this point anything is worth a shot.
