Nintendo has recently announced that a slew of Wii U, 3DS, and Wii games will join their Nintendo Selects program. This will begin this month, and each of the games will be retailed at $19.99. Among the best games announced were Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

DONKEY KONG COUNTRY: TROPICAL FREEZE

Retro Studios had huge shoes to fill when they took over the Donkey Kong Country franchise. The original trilogy, made by Rare on the SNES, was one of the best gaming trilogies of all-time. However, Retro Studios did an amazing job with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. This game, for the Wii U, is the game that Nintendo decided to add to their Nintendo Selects Program. This is an amazing 2D platforming game with amazing levels, an outstanding soundtrack, and a breathtaking visual presentation. Everything is improved from their previous installment and bringing back David Wise was a major reason!

SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2

Speaking of huge shoes to fill, how about Super Mario Galaxy 2? Super Mario Galaxy, on the Nintendo Wii, is the second greatest video game of all-time. This means that the second installment needed to add something, and they turned to the famous green dinosaur. Adding Yoshi was a great touch, and the addition of the green stars was very nice to have. Even though I like the first Galaxy game a little more, this one is still amazing. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was released six years ago, and you can make the case that it looks like a new game. This is considering that the Nintendo Wii console is not even an HD console, and the max it goes is 480p! Now is the time to play both of these amazing games because they are being released with a discount!
