I would have to give it some thought, but I think that swords are my favorite type of weapon in Skyrim. The best part about them and all of the other weapons for that matter are how many different types there are. With this in mind, I give to you the five best swords in Skyrim.
5. GAULDUR BLACKBLADE
Warning, the boss you need to beat to achieve this sword can be very annoying. The damage you deal from this weapon is decent at best, but that is not the reason I love it so much. In the world of Skyrim, you can use the Gauldur Blackblade to absorb health! I am a sucker for weapons that can improve your health, that is for sure.
4. DRAGONBANE
The Dragonbane is a sword that deals an impressive amount of damage. Not only that but this weapon will also deal out a good amount of shock damage to anything else. If you want a sword that not only deals great damage to your opponent but also to other obstacles around you, then the Dragonbane is perfect for you.
3. DAWNBREAKER
The best-looking sword in Skyrim, at least from my point of view, is the Dawnbreaker. Be honest for a second, the first time you saw the glow on this sword you freaked out a little, didn’t you? Anyway, functionally this sword is also great because it will deal fire damage to any target that you hit with it.
2. NIGHTINGALE BLADE
Do you remember when I said I was a sucker for a weapon that gives you health? Well, enter in the Nightingale Blade. This sword is a more advanced version of the Gauldur Blockade as it deals way more damage. However, it maintains the ability to absorb health while also giving you more stamina per hit.
1. MIRAAK’S SWORD
There is not a sword in the world of Skyrim that tops Miraak’s sword. It is one of the strongest swords in the game, if not the strongest, and it is only available in the Dragonborn DLC.
