Instead of buying the Samsung Galaxy S7, Oculus Rift or that bootlegged copy of Grown Ups 2 you’ve been dying to get, put aside some money for something much cooler. In two years time, Blue Origin might be able to fly you into orbit. Start saving up, maybe a trip to the moon won’t be as far off as many tip.

BLUE ORIGIN THE FIRST FOR SPACE TOURISM

Jeff Bezos is a highly ambitious individual. He already proved himself as the man behind Amazon, the biggest e-commerce company in the world. Then he strategically acquired the Washingon Post and now, he will make space tourism a reality with Blue Origin. It may seem like a moon shot, but they’ve been hunkered away, quietly working on the New Shepard spaceship and BE-4 rocket engine. Human test flights will begin in 2017, using New Shepard and it’s reusable launch system. While at the moment, these will just be suborbital flights, maybe it just might lead to a moon vacation someday.

FLIGHT TESTS IN 2017. WILL MOON BE NEXT?

Blue Origin said passenger flight tests will begin as soon as next year. Once they have proven that no one will die, the next steps in the process will take place. At the moment, there is no plan for tickets to go on sale and it’s unknown whether or not Ticketmaster will get in on the action, but considering they have their grimy hands in everything else, it’s only a matter of time before they want to conquer the moon. Where’s Pearl Jam on this one? Blue Origin is best known as the second best private space company, with SpaceX reigning supreme. However, the 16-year old company could soon take the top spot with Bezos at the helm of space tourism.

BEZOS TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD AND BEYOND

Jeff Bezos has been a long time sci-fi fan since he was a child. It’s likely that he knows all too well the possibilities that space travel can bring us. On Earth, he already has a stake in some of the most profitable ventures in Amazon and his influence goes even much further than the press advertises. From there, Bezos now looks to the stars. He believes the future of Blue Origin is to have millions of people both living and working in space. There is only so much power one can have on earth before they move on. With other countries looking to the moon for colonization, this movement just may be a soon reality.
