There is absolutely no denying the visual similarity of the new Disney Crossy Road with Minecraft. Sure, it’s technically Crossy Road with Disney characters, but it might as well be called Minecraft 2.0. However, this is just with the visuals because the gameplay is nothing like Minecraft. So, now that that’s out of the way, here are five important things to know about this endless Frogger.
1. WHAT DISNEY CROSSY ROAD IS
Basically, the original Crossy Road is an arcade video game where your goal is to make it across areas without being killed. Essentially, Disney Crossy Road is going to be similar but also give a brand new take on the game.
2. THE DISNEY WORLDS YOU TRAVEL IN
The coolest part of Disney Minecraft 2.0, oh wait I meant Crossy Road, not Minecraft, is all of the worlds are based on the iconic franchise. For example, you will be able to play in the 8-bit worlds of The Lion King, Toy Story, and Tangled, just to name a few.
3. THE MINECRAFT 2.0 FIGURINES
While you’re playing Minecraft 2.0, I really need to stop typing that, you can collect well over 100 Pixar figurines. Among your favorite characters to collect are Mufasa, Buzz Lightyear, Wreck-It Ralph, and much more.
4. THE MUSIC IN DISNEY CROSSY ROAD
If you love nostalgia, then you are going to love how this game executes its soundtrack. The game offers 8-bit versions of your favorite Disney songs. The two that you need to hear right away are “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” and “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”.
5. THE SPECIAL CHALLENGES IN THE GAME
Another cool aspect that is in this game is the special themed challenges. These challenges, which are unique to each world, can be collecting cherries to earn power-ups, staying clear of falling barrels, and weathering blizzards. Overall, this game seems to have a lot of depth in it, and it looks to be worth your while.
