If your blood is boiling from Dark Souls 3 set down the controller and head to the kitchen table. Steamforged Games is developing a board game for the popular series. Dark Souls: The Board Game gives players the ability to share the frustration with their friends while taking a break from the PS4 and Xbox One game.
Saving PS4 and Xbox One Controllers
The challenging gameplay is brought to the PS4 and Xbox One with the release of Dark Souls 3. The Board Game, Steamforged Games hopes to give players another way to play the popular series and at the same time save a few PS4 and Xbox One controllers from meeting an untimely demise. Dark Souls: The Board Game is a combat adventure game which can be played with up to 4 players. Players will traverse numerous dungeons where they will encounter numerous enemies and treasures. Much like Dark Souls 3 the board game puts a high emphasis on boss battles. The game will require players to work together and find a way to defeat the bosses at the end of each game.
The Rich Lore of Dark Souls 3
The board game follows the deep lore of its PS4 and Xbox One counterpart, Dark Souls 3. The figures included with the game are highly detailed and resemble characters and enemies within the video game series. The core game upon release will contain 28 models, 7 game tiles, 4 boards, 162 cards, 15 dice, and over 100 game tokens.
Add-ons Galore
With their Kickstarter campaign, Steamforged Games is offering backers extra benefits for increasing their pledges to the board game. These additional benefits come in the form of expansion packs. The creators are currently focusing on boss expansions, with figures from the series past such as the Gaping Dragon and the Guardian Dragon. Steamforged games will continue to reveal expansion throughout the board games Kickstarter campaign. The board game will not ship until a few months after the Kickstarter campaign ends. Players will have to get their fix from Dark Souls 3 on the PS4 or Xbox One until then.
