Fans of Terminator 2 may remember how they brought in one robot from the future to kill off another one. Well, that same scenario is kind of happening right now. A new robot-mermaid has been invented and has the ability to hunt. With Russian cyborg bikers roaming the Earth and Google’s Android bot getting angrier by the day, we may just have the makings of a robotic war on our hands.
STANFORD CREATES GOLD DIGGING ROBOT MERMAID
The invention of robots and A. I. in the past year have sparked many creative ideas, however, Stanford may just beat them all with this one. Professor of computer science Oussama Khatib had made a new deep ocean robot that will be able to dive deeper than any human has gone before. OceanOne, as it is called, is marketed as a deep sea diving machine, however, it’s more along the lines of a terminator mermaid than an average submersible.
GOOGLE’S HUMANOID MANY HAVE MET ITS MATCH
Unlike the wealth of other submersibles out there, this robot is a humanoid. It has humanlike construction and sensors meaning that OceanOne operators can control it to complete tasks a human would normally do. For example, it can dive to the deep reefs of the Red Sea, hunt for pirate gold, or stealthily destroy underwater communications valuable for human survival. That last past is unlikely, as OceanOne seems to be used for good at the moment. Who know’s if that will remain to be. Unlike Google’s bot or the Russian cyborg, OceanOne has an advanced brain. It can actively respond to ocean conditions and make adjustments to its movement accordingly. With intelligence like that, it’s only a matter of time before this bot goes full Terminator. Let’s just hope it’s on the right side.
TERMINATOR 4: THE AXIS OF EVIL
The inevitable war between robots is coming. Who will represent the axis of evil and who will be the beacon of hope on the good side? Well, it’s safe to say that Russia’s cyborg bike army will be one the dark side. Russia has always wanted world domination and this will be a chance to achieve that. Google’s robot, on the other hand, is a wild card. Their humanoid could easily represent the good side of a Terminator film, but the company could be easily persuaded. Let’s say that mermaid bot finds a huge trench of gold. Google never turns down a chance at profit. Perhaps this will lead them down the path of darkness. Google, hand in hand with Russia will lead an army of terminator bots across the world, destroying human civilization as we know it. Man, I really need to get outside more.
