VR is becoming quite the headlines generator these days. With Google Cardboard and Oculus Rift set to take off, Microsoft wants to get a slice of the profits as well. Their HoloLens device looks to be a worthy competitor, however, the $3,000 device looks to have a different purpose compared to the popular Pornhub virtual porn headset.
MICROSOFT HOLOLENS PACKS A BORING PUNCH
The technology behind Microsoft HoloLens is nothing to scoff at. It will boast an Intel Atom x5 chipset that will run the newest Windows 10 that 32-bits can offer. Intel’s Z8100 Atom processor runs at a speed of 1.05 GHz and can be 64-bit capable as well. The holographic abilities of Microsoft HoloLens will be powering the interface of the hardware with 114 MB of memory and 980MB of shared memory. HoloLens will also have 2GB of RAM with 64GB of system storage making about 54GB available for the user. Aside from all that fascinating information, the headset will also include a camera for photos and videos.
WHAT ANY OF THIS MEANS FOR VR
None of those specs are particularly off the charts (in classic Microsoft fashion) but they prove their headset will be a decent device for gamers or graphic intensive tasks. Those looking for an entry-level device into VR the HoloLens will do it, however, it most likely won’t turn any heads. Not like PornHubs porn VR headset will at least.
PORNHUB ROCKS THE PORN WORLD
If there’s one quality Microsoft never seems to have, it’s pizazz. You know, showmanship, spiff, span, the works. Apple has that all and frankly, it’s what sells. You know what else sells? Porn. Porn makes millions and PornHub hopes to make even more off of it by way of VR. Their newest VR headset was advertised on Youtube and even to the most prude, PornHub made it look pretty damn fun. In all fairness, PornHub promises and orgy experience like no other, so it’s kind of hard to compete with that. It’s kind of hard to compete with porn in general. Of course, virtual reality won’t exist purely in this genre, but it looks like PornHub has a lock on it. Oculus Rift and others just may have to find their own niche to master.
