In case you didn’t get enough drama in actual school, Minecraft has made a school mod of your own. The mod has blown up on Youtube with several videos receiving hundreds of thousands of views. If this is all news to you here are five things to know about it.
1. LITTLE KELLY FAILED HER MINECRAFT SCHOOL EXAM
Not that this should matter to you, but Little Kelly, the one responsible for this particular YouTube roleplay of Minecraft school failed her exam. Oh no. What are we to do. Maybe if she didn’t spend so much time going to class in the real world, Little Kelly would have time to study for her virtual exam that doesn’t exist. Some kids just never learn.
2. YOUTUBE LOVES THIS STUFF
As expressed earlier, viewers on YouTube are eating this mod right up. 350,947 people have tuned in so far to watch Little Kelly fail her Minecraft exam and that’s nothing. Some of the mods go up into the millions for views. So what exactly makes these roleplays so popular?
3. THEY ARE ENTERTAINING
Depending on what you call entertainment, Minecraft School could be a good way to pass the time. At least that seems to be the case for millions of YouTube viewers. It’s not really any different than the average teen drama on Disney channel. Just take out the actors and add pixelated characters in a pixelated environment narrated by a pixelated person. Ok, so it might be a little different than Disney Channel teen dramas, but that’s not stopping it from becoming popular.
4. PEOPLE HAVE A LOT OF FREE TIME
Where is all this free time people seem to have to lie around? It’s not enough anymore to spend free time playing video games, but now people can watch others play video games. This could barely classify as a video game too. Minecraft School is more of a unique YouTube television experience. Perhaps these viewers don’t have that much free time, but they just happen to spend it all watching this. To each his own.
5. LITTLE KELLY NEEDS TO GET HER STUFF TOGETHER
Come on Little Kelly. Looking at your video history, it looks like her life isn’t exactly together. Little Kelly is failing exams, getting in fights with Sharky, fighting school bullies, turning into a boy and even getting married. For a girl in school, she certainly seems to get into some interesting situations. If she was any plans of going to college, Little Kelly needs to get her stuff in line.
