Following the release of the brass knuckles iPhone case comes a new product that continues to blur the lines between weapon and smartphone. YouTube videos promoting these products may be in good fun but the realism has Apple fans and police fooled.
iPHONE GUN CASE FIRES UP YOUTUBE CROWD
With the immense popularity of the brass knuckles iPhone case review, YouTube has decided to continue their violence promoting ways by advertising a new gun shaped iPhone case. When the case is out in the open, it’s quite obvious to tell that it’s a case and not an actual gun. The smartphone itself protrudes awkwardly from the case, implying that it would take a fairly stupid person to confuse that with a real weapon. However, the real issue at hand is when the case is put in a pocket. As seen in the YouTube video, when the case is in a pocket, it’s hard to tell that a smartphone is in there. The only visible part is the handle of the “gun” itself. While YouTube finds this quite funny, others fail to see the humor.
COPS CRACKDOWN ON FAKE CASE
Cops aren’t exactly known for their sense of humor and this incident is no different. Police have issued a warning about the gun-shaped smartphone case saying that it puts the lives of Apple users in danger. One particular owner of the case found himself surrounded by cops with tasers after being spotted walking around with the case. Seeing as gun violence is already a pressing issue in America, this isn’t something cops find funny. Add the fact that there are gun-themed apps being developed to compliment the case, and this could create an ugly situation.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR APPLE?
We’ve seen brass knuckle iPhone cases and gun shaped cases, so what’s next for the Apple device? Maybe inspired developers will begin to move towards more useful forms of Apple cases. For example, an iPhone bong, complete with a lighter, would come in handy at parties. Also, an Apple case that doubles as a rape whistle/pepper spray would certainly be nice to have for those long walks home at night. Ideas don’t have to be limited to the violent one’s we’ve seen on YouTube. Get a little more creative with those cases guys.
