Crime against women has become a major issue in the U.S. and is on the rise. While college is supposed to be a time of learning, growth and independence for young adults, the Bureau of Justice Statistics reports that one in five female undergraduates have experienced some kind of sexual assault while in college. Assault extends beyond the college campus as well. One in three women will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime, according to the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence survey.
We created SafeTrek, a mobile platform company committed to keeping you safe to help people in situations like these. Our flagship product, the SafeTrek app, is simple-to-use and can alert police and emergency response with the touch of a button.
Immediately Get in Touch with Police
When you enter an unsafe situation, simply open the app and hold down the button. If something happens, let go of the button and help will be dispatched to you immediately. SafeTrek also tracks your location during an emergency enabling you to receive help even if you cannot speak or do not know where you are at. All emergency signals are immediately sent to SafeTrek’s privately-owned and operated, Central Alarm Association Five Diamond-certified call centers.
Feel Safe in a Potentially Dangerous Situation
SafeTrek also bridges the gap between being afraid and calling 911. Many of its users choose to open SafeTrek when they’re feeling anxious or scared and aren’t sure if a situation will escalate or not. Using SafeTrek and knowing someone is watching over them provides a sense of comfort in a time of fear. The friendly, non-judgmental call center staff is also available to help for non-critical emergencies and will never charge a SafeTrek user for a false alarm.
New Profile Updates
SafeTrek just announced several new profile app updates to make it easier for police and emergency response crews to identify and help you.
These include:
- Date of birth
- Physical attributes such as hair/eye color and height
- An open field for users to share any additional information emergency response may need to know, such as pre-existing medical conditions
Additionally, SafeTrek is allowing its users to add an emergency contact. After police have been dispatched, your contact will be notified and SafeTrek agents will fill them in on the situation.
During an emergency, every second counts. Using SafeTrek is as easy as pushing a button; holding it will provide you with a personal bodyguard in a potentially dangerous situation and releasing it will immediately send help during an emergency. Whether it’s an emergency or a potentially unsafe situation, SafeTrek’s team is dedicated to your protection and is here 24/7/365 to help when you need it the most.
The app has been downloaded more than 800,000 times and on average, SafeTrek protects more than 30,000 people experiencing an unsafe situation each month.
