Proxima B is the closest planet to our solar system and has the potential to harbor life on its surface. The problem is, life there doesn’t seem too enjoyable. A tidal lock exists thatĀ forces aliens to the middle. Otherwise, they have to face two extreme temperatures.
ALIENS LIVE A ROUGH LIFE ON PROXIMA B PLANET
From a distance, Proxima B looks like a beautiful place for life to flourish. It lies in a habitable zone where the strength of light is at the point where it can melt water. However, this space paradise has downsides. For one, it’s only 4 million miles away from its star. That may seem like a lot but to compare, Earth is 91 million miles away from the sun. Essentially, this makes life on the planet rather rough for aliens.
PROXIMA PLANET TRAPS ALIENS
Proxima B is tidally locked. Just like our moon. One side of the moon always faces Earth and one side of the other planet faces its star. Hence, one side remains in permanent daylight. The other, trapped in eternal darkness. The only habitable zone lies in the middle. If aliens are there, this is where they’d be. That being said, there is an atmosphere that keeps water from boiling off into space. life there wouldn’t be romantic, but it would be possible.
ALIENS CAN EXPECT COMPANY TO THEIR PROXIMA PLANET
We are a far way off from moving to a new habitat but the possibility is there. Earth has two options at the moment. Either humans will destroy it, or something like an asteroid will. Russian billionaire Uri Milner is already in the process of sending nano crafts to the Centaur star system in te next 20 to 30 years. Hopefully, he will find something of interest so we can start planning the big move.
