Kickstarter to Make Google Translate Obsolete Clapway

We like to make fun of Google translate from time to time. However, we always go back. It’s not because we love the technology per say, but because there really isn’t’ much of an option. No, Bing translate doesn’t count. Well now, we can forget about Bing or any other thing for that matter. There’s a new Kickstarter in town and it’s going to change translation tech forever.

KICKSTARTER INTRODUCES THE NEW GOOGLE TRANSLATE

Unlike Google, the CLIK is a wearable translator. According to their Kickstarter campaign, the CLIK allows the wearer to talk with others in different languages. Either locally or long distance. It has the ability to translate 37 languages in real-time. There’s certainly nothing out there like it now. The question is, will the competition respond?

While Google translate is handy for a few words, it certainly doesn’t change the way we do business completely. If they want to keep up with the Kickstarter CLIK, they need to find a way to bring translation into the corporate sector. Just imagine how international meetings will go once language barriers disappear. Technology helps us become more globalised every day. However, the language still gets in the way. By removing that pesky language barrier, we can do whatever we want.

Besides corporate translation, think about the possibilities in the medical or military fields. With medical staff having the ability to understand those in need, the lack of language barrier will reduce stress and trauma. Furthermore, it will boost the overall peace of mind. The military could also use CLIK in a positive way. Sometimes, miscommunication causes violence. In war time, minimalizing these miscommunications is key and a technology like this will help reduce that.

If you’re not sold on the whole translation part of the CLIK think about this. They also make top-notch wireless headphones. Since Apples, new wireless headphones don’t look that popular, perhaps it’s time for a switch. Plus, there’s the added bonus of understanding your foreign neighbor instead of just nodding and smiling.
