Kickstarter to Make Macys, Walmart and Costco Obsolete

We spend 8 or so hours on our pillow each night, yet how often do we talk about them or research the right one? It takes weeks to find the perfect car for that 30-60 minute work commute yet when it comes to a pillow, we just pop in a Macys, Walmart, and Costco and quickly grab one. The fact is that most pillows suck. One Kickstarter campaign realizes this and is working on a supreme solution.

As said up above, most pillows just plain suck. The one’s you get at Macys, Walmart and Costco are a lumpy piece of foam or have cheap feathers that painfully torture your head as you try to sleep. Your head is one of the most important parts of your body, yet these pillows sure don’t treat it that way. A Kickstarter campaign called the Purple Pillow is the world’s first pillow that is less than a pillow and more like a bed for your ever so important head.

WHY MACYS WALMART AND COSTCO SHOULD FEAR THE KICKSTARTER PILLOW

According to Kickstarter, the Purple Pillow has three important parts. First, there’s the hyperelastic polymer. This stuff is organized in hundreds of tiny triangles and never go flat or lose shape. The second part is an adjustable air booster for adding little extra (or less) height to your pillow. This is great for the snorers or side sleepers. Lastly is the super soft, polyester cover that holds all this wonderful science inside. Hence, it makes for a gentle, and cool pillow case.

If the Purple Pillow wasn’t enough to get your attention, there’s also a Purple Bed featuring the same wonderful qualities. This just goes to show that big box stores like Costco, Walmart and Macys are on their way out. They can’t match the creativity of startups like this one . This method of creating and selling products is still so new, but if the quality keeps increasing, big box stores will be obsolete. Soon, we’ll get customized products online at a cheaper prize and with a larger selection. Look out IKEA, you might be next.
