Let’s start with the basics. Why would anyone want to live on Mars? Well, think about it from another angle. What if we didn’t have a choice but instead, were forced to live on the Red Planet? That’s exactly what Elon Musk thinks will happen. To him, we must establish a SpaceX Mars habitat in order to guarantee the survival of humanity. Asteroid strikes, climate change, and general destruction are not just possibilities. They are realities that will happen in a matter of time. Hence, Musk is looking into experimental ideas. A clean slate where anything is possible. However, is it realistic?

The SpaceX Mars habitat will be a utopia in the future. But the far, far, far future. It’s not like this will happen in 2020.
