Huge news has surfaced, and a new sequel to a game in 1999 is coming. System Shock was a video game that was created way back in 1994 and a sequel was made in 1999. However, there was a teaser on OtherSide Entertainment‘s Twitter feed for System Shock 3!
SYSTEM SHOCK 3 IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING
The first two System Shock games were met with critical acclaim back in the day. They were both action role-playing games, but both had a good emphasis on shooting. Now, the fans that so loved those two games are looking like they will get another one. Night Dive Studios recently announced that they bought the rights to the franchise. Adding on to the already teased System Shock 3, they mentioned how they want to make a remake of the first System Shock. As far as details go, not much has been announced yet other than the name of this game.
SYSTEM SHOCK 3 HAS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING
There is no doubt that so many fans are absolutely thrilled to hear this news. It has been over 15 years since System Shock 2 was created. Some spiritual successors have been created, the most popular being Bioshock, but the original always seems to trump the successors. Again, nothing has been said about what the game will be. At this time, it is just about being excited that this game looks like it will happen.
WILL SYSTEM SHOCK 3 STAY TRUE TO THE SERIES?
The biggest question that is going to arise is if this game will be similar to the previous two. There are times where the third game of a series is completely awful and changes the whole dynamic. The third game in a series is not always going to be like this, but it happens. However, if the company stays with the style that made the games so popular back in the 1990’s then it should be fine.
