A few days ago, it was teased that a bunch of hackers attempted to hack a NASA drone. The self-proclaimed hackers, AnonSec, actually posted a bunch of files that revealed this. Also, in these files were the steps they took to pull this off. So, if you want to get yourself in a lot of trouble, then follow these steps to hack a NASA drone.
HACK A NASA DRONE
The first step to actually hacking one of their drones is by opening a metaphorical door. To do this, you must start off by using Bitcoin to purchase access to a computer network owned by NASA. Once you finally gain access to this network, the fun will begin. You will need to find some of the NASA computers that have passwords left on them. As soon as you can find these passwords you gain full control over anything you want the drone to do. So, if you are anything like AnonSec, then you can attempt to crash the drone. However, as cool as this does sound it might not be as real as you think. This is because NASA actually released a statement that denied the fact that this was due to hackers. Well, you could still attempt these steps and see if they work!
NASA COMMENTS ON THIS DRONE
In the statement sent out by the company, they mention that their aircraft was not compromised in any way. They also point out that they have zero evidence to prove that their data was hacked by outside sources. However, they did mention how they are going to continue to investigate all of the allegations. Maybe they actually will discover some evidence that AnonSec actually attempted to crash one of their drones. Only time will tell if this ends up happening, but for now, all of the claims from AnonSec can be taken with a grain of salt.
