Everyone will tell you that the main reason they get on YouTube is to watch videos. That is essentially what you do there, but could Facebook end up driving them into the ground? The latter’s popularity and numbers just continue to go up, and this includes their video viewing.

REASON 1

The founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, released the company’s quarter four earnings, and it was noted that the company is now seeing around 100 million hours of video watch time a day. Most people probably think that the only thing that people do on Facebook is talk with one another. However, due to these numbers, that assumption can be dismissed. Now, I am not implying that YouTube doesn’t get a good amount of views. As a matter of fact, on their statistics page, they mention that a number of hours being watched a day is up 60 percent. The point is, videos is all YouTube has and Facebook is excelling in videos, but they have more.

REASON 2

The number of daily video watch time is not the only number that has increased for Facebook. During the third quarter of last year, the number of users on Groups was 925 million. This is already a huge amount of people, but this has since raised to 1 billion. This is what YouTube can’t hang with, and there are no signs of Facebook slowing down with this.

REASON 3

Capping off the list of numbers that have gone up for the company is their Facebook Lite users. At the end of the third quarter in 2015, the company had 50 million users on this service. However, this number has skyrocketed to 80 million since then. They are not going to drive YouTube away through only their videos, but the collaboration of all of the other factors could do so.
