It seems like Ford is finally ready to make up for their prior sins. Sure, they have remained successful since the infamous transmission defect, but they are now appearing like they are ready to officially forget about it. For those who don’t know, way back in 1980 Ford underwent a terrible recall. The NHTSA, at the time, announced that their 1966-1980 cars that had automatic transmissions contained a defect. This defect was that the automobiles were being slipped from park to reverse, and then they would roll without the owners knowing. However, with recent news of their electric cars, Ford is trying to rid that day.
THE COMPANY IS RELEASING ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLES
On the company’s blog post, it has been revealed that they will invest in expanding their all-electric vehicles. They are going to be using the funding to further develop the technology to make their cars cleaner for the environment. The post also mentioned that they are planning to add around 13 of these cars to their portfolio by 2020. Ford is also giving their customers an immediate reason to be excited, as they announced that the first car will be the new Focus Electric.
FORD IS BUILDING THESE NEW CARS FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS
There is no doubt that Ford is doing this for their customers because on their blog post they talked about it. It was mentioned that they are completely reimagining their development and design processes to cater towards driver experience. The post went on to say that they are working on how customers interact with the vehicles, and then applying that to the way they design their models. As everyone knows the customer is always right, and Ford is taking the right step with their mindset. As long as the customer is happy then businesses will continue to make revenue. Maybe the scandal can officially be behind them after this.
