NASA never seems to stop in their determination to know as much as the can about our universe.

This is not an easy task, but the newest telescope from NASA is going to help immensely. Recently, the company added the final mirror to their James Webb Space Telescope. There are a couple of reasons why NASA is doing this, and here are three.

REASON 1: THE INFRARED SPECTRUM

Harvey Moseley, an astrophysicist at NASA, explained how this newest telescope is designed to view all of the objects in the infrared spectrum. This then allows the company to further explore this origin of the universe. Some objects in the universe, whose visible light have turned into infrared light, were undetectable with their Hubble telescope. However, this new James Webb Space Telescope is designed to be able to see this part of the spectrum.

REASON 2: CRISPER IMAGES

Dr. Benford was another individual who commented on this latest mirror that NASA added to their newest telescope. Benford pointed out that due to the massive size of the mirror it will emit more light. This then, in turn, will allow the telescope to return sharper images, as Benford explains it. It will not do the company much good if that can’t make out what’s in a photo. So, the implementation of a larger mirror was a brilliant idea.

REASON 3: TO FURTHER DISCOVER THE UNIVERSE

This last reason is quite obvious, and one that was touched on in the beginning, but it is worth mentioning. Some of the most brilliant minds are working at NASA, and it is always good for the world to know more about the universe. Well, this new telescope is no doubt going to be doing just that, and maybe we can start to unfold some of the mysteries of our universe. It’s all in your hands NASA, and I think everyone is OK with that.
