I wonder if Android is thinking that if that can’t beat Apple, they might as well join them. Now, obviously I can’t read the minds of the employees of the company, but it seems like Android doesn’t mind receiving extra content from them. There is no questioning that these companies have been rivals for quite some time now, but has something changed? I might be looking to far into this, but here is a couple of reasons why it feels like Apple is taking control of Android.
FIRST REASON: THE ADDITION OF APPLE MUSIC
The announcement that Android was going to add Apple Music to their platforms started all of this. It took place in November of last year, and the chief executive of Apple said it was a way for the company to test the waters of its services on others platforms. If you are unaware, this is a software that allows you to stream music. It has been met with mixed reviews by critics, but some have found enjoyment in using it. However, we now know that this will be just the beginning of Android adding Apple applications to their platform.
SECOND REASON: MORE APPS TO ANDROID
Tim Cook, the chief executive of Apple, told his staff at an event that they may soon bring more apps to Android. With this news, the company may be considering adding iMessage to their rival’s platform. This software is a messaging service, and it is one that is very secure. Encrypted end-to-end, the iMessage is so secure that even Apple can’t see the user’s messages. Maybe the only problem with this is that criminals have an easier chance of causing chaos. As a matter of fact, a couple of years ago the DEA was unable to track some suspects messages. We will see if this particular application comes to Android, but even if it doesn’t others most likely will.
