Apple has been a dominant force in the world of music for quite a while now. There iTunes software has been around for many years now, and it still remains the most elite of its kind. However, this success has continued all the way through their Apple Music. This service has only been around for around seven months, but it’s already leading.
FIRST REASON: AMOUNT OF SUBSCRIBERS
Craig Federighi and Eddy Cue, two Apple senior vice presidents, were recently on a podcast in which they took part in an exclusive interview. During this interview, they revealed that Apple Music has now officially passed 11 million subscribers. This is right on par with the expectations from the Financial Times, so this is not much of a surprise.
SECOND REASON: THE SPEED IN WHICH THEY HAVE ACHIEVED THEIR SUBSCRIBERS
One of the main reasons why Apple Music is leading is due to the speed in which they have received their subscribers. Many of you know what Spotify is, and it is another music streaming service that is in the competition for the number one spot. The reason I bring up Spotify is to put in perspective the speed in which they receive their subscribers. In July 2011, Spotify launched and it wasn’t until May 2014 that they reached 10 million paid subscribers, which is roughly three years. Now, let’s consider that Apple Music has already reached that plateau and they launched in June of 2015, which is only seven months!
THIRD REASON: THE CONVENIENCE FACTOR
During this same interview, Cur and Federighi also announced that the company had over one billion devices in use. That is a number that needs to sink in because that is truly unbelievable. With this many devices in the world, the convenience of their music service drastically improves. Apple Music is just starting to reach its prime, and that is a scary thought!
