Virgin Galactic is certainly making a strong claim to why they could beat NASA and SpaceX. Just recently, the company unveiled their new spaceship. Stephen Hawking actually went on Twitter and dubbed this spaceship the Virgin Spaceship Unity, and it has been in construction for three years. Even Hawking himself said he would be proud to fly in this spaceship, and that says a lot. The owner of Virgin Galactic, Richard Branson, stated how this will make space accessible in a way that has only been dreamed about in the past.

Virgin Galactic is about ready to become the world’s number one space tourists, and that is awesome. Once the VSS Unity is fully functional, the company mentioned how they want to send passengers up 50 miles from the Earth’s surface. As the company states it, this would make them space tourists. The company has also already received an overwhelming amount of participants for this program. As of right now, more than 700 people have signed up to fly on this spaceship, and this is considering that a seat costs $250,000! That is a good chunk of money to pay, but it is a once in a lifetime opportunity as well.

A majority of the world knows that this company had a previous version crash, killing one pilot on board. However, the company has taken the necessary steps to prevent this from happening again. The chief pilot for the company, Dave Mackay, stated how the previous accident was caused by a control being moved when it should not have. However, he then said that the company implemented a brand new system so nothing like this would happen again. Look out NASA and SpaceX because Virgin Galactic is about to blow the minds of everyone!
