Genetically Modified People Will Not Have Gray Hair

Genetically Modified People Will Not Have Gray Hair Clapway

A study released in the beginning of this month has discovered a certain gene that turns hair gray. The IRF4 gene has previously been the cause for having light hair as well as gray hair. Now that this trait has been linked to a gene, researchers are looking into the future of genetically modified hair.

DON’T BLAME YOUR PARENTS FOR GRAY HAIR ANYMORE

Researchers have long identified several genes for balding and hair color, but this is the first time that a gene for graying hair has been specifically identified. The IRF4 gene plays a major role in making melanin, which gives your hair, eyes and skin its color. When less melanin is produced, more gray hair occurs. Seeing as this is a symptom of genetics, there isn’t much one can do to prevent it. Genetically modified hair, however, may be able to reverse your luck.

GENETICALLY MODIFIED PEOPLE A POSSIBILITY

Scientists are hopeful that this new study will help with postponing and preventing the graying process by having this gene genetically modified. By studying the IRF4 gene and having a  better understanding of forensics,  genetically modified hair is becoming a possibility. We are still pretty far off from lining up at the local hair color reversal clinic, but the idea isn’t that wild.

THE FUTURE OF HAIR IS COMING

Besides the IRF4 gene, other discoveries were made in the study. Among these was the FOXL2 gene, which makes bushy eyebrows. The EDAR gene makes your hair straight and a beard sparse. Then there is the PRSS53 gene, which creates curly hair. Not only can the elderly rejoice, but now anyone who desires a new hair style can look forward to a genetically modified future. Are you that hipster who’s always wanted a thick, lumberjack beard but just don’t have the genes? Maybe you’re the straight haired girl who’s always desired long, curly locks. Scientists even say the infamous unibrow may be a thing of the past with genetically modified hair. Yes, the future looks rather good for hair styles. It’s just a matter of time before we go to the drive through to get an afro with our burger.
