Everyone from the Mayan’s, R.E.M. and that guy in Times Square have predicted when the end of world would happen. Despite the courageous efforts, they’ve all been wrong. When it comes to predicting the same outcome on Mars, however, NASA got it right.
NASA CREATES NEW TOOL TO FIND END OF WORLD ON MARS
Scientists have developed a new tool for identifying Martian rocks. However, this goes far beyond geology. Apparently, the rocks have symptoms of ancient life. Using these signs, NASA can determine when the End of World happened on Mars. The agency will use a new system that will send their Rover out over the planet, collecting clean rock samples. These clean samples have a better chance of showing signs of life because they are as close to their original form as possible.

Before the nature lovers out there get up in arms, understand that NASA will take major strides to protect the surface of Mars. They are doing this with a unique system. The system finds chemicals in old rocks without disturbing them. This way, they can measure tiny vibrations of any given material. As you all know, atoms and molecules vibrate differently depending on what chemicals they attached to. Using this logic, scientists can find out what a rock is made of and ultimately trace that back to the end of the world on the red planet. It’s a complex operation but thankfully, MIT has their best guys on it. We can now go back to Netflix and chilling with our minds at ease.

Many of you are probably thinking why we are wasting so much time and money up in space. The Martian landscape is dead after all, so what is there to study? Well, it’s actually quite selfish. By understanding what happened to the red planet, scientists hope to better understand the cycle on Earth. Furthermore, it will help us learn more about what organisms are really made of and how they work. Hopefully, this will help us prevent our own end of world.
