On the outside, M83 is a French electronic music band formed by Anthony Gonzalez. The band has been conquering stages since 2001 with their unique brand of music but that’s not all they’ve been doing. It turns out this group is also the voice of aliens and outer space.
M83 MUSIC VIDEO TALKS TO ALIENS AND TAKES US TO SPACE
M83’s 2012 music video “Wait” is a cosmic trip through the stars. Behind the luscious soundscape, viewers fly through space and witness as the band paints an audio picture. This is more than just a music video, though. It’s communication. Communication with humans and even aliens. It turns out that the band is using their synthpop, shoegazing, and ambient rhythms to transcend time and space. But this power did not come easy.
M83: FROM SPACE LOVERS TO ALIENS
M83 started in Antibes, France. There, Anthony Gonzalez and his brother Yann came turned their interest in football into music. From there, Gonzalez pursued is music interest even further at school. Little did they know that this interest would formulate into the successful space rock band we have today that talks to aliens like the great successors before them.
M83 CONTINUES THE TRADITION OF TALKING TO SPACE ALIENS
The great psychedelic bands of the 1960s like Pink Floyd used their atmospheric sounds to communicate a message. Gonzalez was heavily influenced by this style and can be seen in his music today. Havey reverb and soft spoken lyrics over loud instruments have a unique effect on people. it causes people to think deeply. Perhaps, some can even use this as a meditate experience and learn to communicate telepathically will alien life forms. Of course, for many, the music just means entertainment but to others, it has potential. If alien life does exist out there, we should use music more to communicate.
