Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Crushed Star Wars Battlefront and Halo Clapway

It has been revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the best selling game of 2015, miles ahead of Star Wars Battlefront and Halo 5. The game, which only came out a little over two months ago, had more physical sales than every other game released in 2015.

12th Installment of Call of Duty Wins Big

The Call of Duty franchise has been widely successful despite a few bleaker games here and there. Black Ops 3 leads the series to over 250 million copies sold to date. This is also the seventh year in a row that the Call of Duty series is awarded #1 selling franchise in North America. There may have been over 250 million copies sold in the US, but there are many more worldwide.

December 2015 was marked as the Xbox One’s best month in sales to date, which is another cause for celebration. Maybe the console does stand a serious chance against the PS4 and their magnanimous sales.

Other Chart Toppers Also Brought in Some Slayage

Other chart toppers include Madden NFL 2016, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront and Grand Theft Auto V. Behind these titles stood NBA 2K16, FIFA 16, Mortal Kombat X, and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. With DLC season kicking off in less than a month, there is a big change that Call of Duty will rake in some more hits as Black Ops III Awakening hits consoles.

2015 was a flat year in sales compared to 2014, and December saw a 1.5% decrease in sales. With the passion that Call of Duty fans has brought in, the numbers may increase. Not only that, but there are a lot of exciting titles soon hitting consoles globally. Whether the console crown is given to Sony or Microsoft in 2016, it’s going to be an exciting year.
