Russia always seems to have its priorities straight. The latest example of this comes in the way of an oligarchy wedding. Rumored to be the most lavish wedding in history, the Russians bought Jennifer Lopez and Sting to perform at the event. And that was the just day one of the wedding. Meanwhile, GM is shelling out a measly sum of cash to buy a tech-startup in hopes to save their failing business.

ARE JENNIFER LOPEZ AND STING COMMUNISTS?

Jennifer Lopez, Sting and a wealth other possibly communist celebrities were among the purchased entertainment for the world’s most expensive wedding. Russia apparently has some billionaires these days, and one of them is Said Gutseriev. The 28-year-old held a lavish 700 million pound wedding in Moscow, Russia last Saturday. Although Jenniffer Lopez and Sting took part in the event, the newlyweds didn’t think that was enough. Part two of the wedding saw them fly to the UK for yet another excessive bash.

RUSSIA GIVES OUT GOLD AT WEDDING

Attending guests were presented with gold boxes bearing the bride and groom’s name just to remind everyone how rich they were. Photos on Instagram continued to show extravagant displays, Rolls Royces galore and footage from the performances of Jennifer Lopez and Sting. Jennifer Lopez was shown making, at least, three different costume changes, featuring an array of skimpy outfits. Again, Russia has their priorities straight. Elton John was even rumored to make an appearance but was not shown in any pictures. While Russia shows off their wealth, the once powerful GM is scrambling for success.

GM BUYS SELF DRIVING TECH STARTUP

Even Jennifer Lopez or Sting could tell you that the future of the automotive industry rests in self-driving technology. GM is a little late to the party on this one, but it seems the are finally getting around to it. This morning, GM announced they will acquire Cruise Automation, a San Francisco-based developer of autonomous tech. The financial details ar not yet known, but it is rumored to be around $1 billion. The fact that GM is buying this for about the same price as a Russian party may raise some questions. I’ll say it again, the Russian’s have their priorities straight. Perhaps General Motors should be putting their money towards a going away party instead. The company has been criticized for being too slow to adopt new technology. This purchase for them is a step in the right direction, but it might be too little too late.
