Gmail to Help Yahoo; Joins Microsoft Clapway

Yahoo fans rejoice, you are finally going to be able to use Gmail with their mail app. Way back in October, the company unveiled their mailing app. However, many people, this writer included, wanted this app to support Gmail. This is due to the astronomical amount of people who have a Gmail account. Per Google Play Statistics, there have been over one billion installs of the killer emailing service. Now that this is done, thankfully, Yahoo now has the support of both Gmail and Microsoft Outlook.

THE OFFICIAL DETAILS OF THE NEW GMAIL SUPPORT

The official update adds IMAP support for Gmail in Yahoo Mail. So, this allows users to manage their Google emailing service straight through the app. One important thing to note, though, is that swipe actions will be a little different. For example, when you use Microsoft Outlook from the app a left swipe will delete the email. However, when using Gmail through the app a left swipe will move it to archive. Also, the company said that if you use Google’s messaging service with their app, then you will be able to take advantage of features like smart contacts and powerful search. This is a great move for Yahoo because now they have support for both Google and Microsoft.

USE MICROSOFT OUTLOOK AS WELL

In case, you were wondering, on the official support page of Microsoft they give step by step instructions to set up your Outlook account on Yahoo Mail. On an iOS or Android device, the first step is to install the Microsoft Outlook app. Then, you must tap on Add An Account, followed by selecting Yahoo Mail. From there, they note you just have to follow some prompts on the screen. Microsoft and Google are certainly not the only companies that have support with Yahoo Mail, but this addition of Google might go down as the companies most important.
