Want to use just one USB port in your laptop to charge your devices? This will soon be possible with the advent of InfiniteUSB. Plugging it in creates another open slot for another, so you can plug, plug and plug devices with no worries of the limited ports on your computer nor of the tangled, cluttered wires. The colorful, elegant cables are hassle-free in organizing with its magnetic design: stick them together, store them up or put it in your pockets to wherever you will go. The project started March 2013 and it is expected to hit the markets all over the globe by July of this year.
InfiniteUSB was created to make life, and device connection easier.
According to its Kickstarter page, the inventor Gonglue Jiang, a design student, asked himself why not make the most out of one port, during a trip. As someone who has a lot of ideas and things to do, the scarcity of USB ports is troubling, especially when outside home and traveling but you still need to plug your devices to the computer. He thought of a way to extend the capacity to plug in just one port with a slick design, and then made the first sketch during the flight and rendered it as soon as he came home.
For him, the best product has both the design and crafting done well at the same level. InfiniteUSB was made possible through teaming up with Vojotech, which for Jiang is the best cable manufacturer in the world. Now, InfiniteUSB will be able to let people plug as many as they need with elegance. It is also compatible with iOS, Android and other devices as long as they have USB ports, may they be MicroUSB, Lightning or the Female USB.
The project was well received, it already has more than a thousand backers with funding pledged of about $80,000. It was positively rated by online tech organizations and sites, and people who had seen the exhibition. InfiniteUSB won an iF Award, opening up another port after another paving the way to plug as many devices in style.
