APPLE RELEASED THE MUSIC APP THIS WEEK
Apple released its Apple Music service earlier this week, which is an on-demand music streaming service, for $10 a month. This is in addition to the seemingly myriad other music streaming services such as Spotify, Pandora, and Tidal. This service is only $10 a month and will have many unique features in addition to the industry standard ones. Apple’s music service incorporated a lot of what people loved about Beats Music. There are curated playlists engineered with popular tracks, cuts and playlists of artists influence.
Apple music is available in 100 countries and is a part of the current iOS 8.4 update for iPhone and iPad.
As a part of Apple Music, is a new Beats 1 Radio station that is on 24/7, worldwide. It is based in three locations: New York, Los Angeles, and London. The DJs are Ebro Darden, Julie Adenuga, and Zane Lowe. The different times will be handed off from one DJ to another.
IT COSTS MORE THAN PANDORA PREMIUM AND SPOTIFY PREMIUM COMBINED
Although this service is much more expensive than both Spotify and Pandora, it comes with its own set of features that some users might find worth it.
All of these features are now available on desktops via the new version of iTunes. This started becoming available to users a few hours after this launched on mobile. The updates to the desktop application included the redesigned Apple Music Radio and Beats One. These on demand stations are available with the ability to search for and add tracks from the entire catalog of streaming tracks.
Users will also have access to the music that they have already purchased from iTunes in the new music app in addition to what they steam and own in the same place and with an offline playback option.
THERE IS A THREE-MONTH FREE TRIAL
Unlike Spotify, there isn’t an ad-filled free option, but Apple is offering to provide a three-month free trial. After this is over, you have to pay $9.99 a month to use the full streaming services. During the free trial, some of the premium options won’t be offered.
