There’s a new dating app called Double and it looks kind of like a rip-off of Tinder really. It seems like the dating app market thinks it’s wide open. And maybe it is because there hasn’t been a solid algorithm or equation or interface discovered that synthesizes true connection or love.
Notables: The Grade (female friendly, encourages loquaciousness), Raya (elitist and oh-so-right), The Dating Ring (anti-online dating, pro-back-to-the-land of dating), Thrinder (not sure about the success rate here but pro-threesomes).
Double seems like it has its place as well, being the first app that matches you to not just one person but another pair to go on your first date with, keeping safety in mind. Admittedly, double dates do seem like a safer alternative and possibly less awkward (not always the case). How are double dates portrayed in Hollywood again?
As innovative as Double might be, because it is a dating app, it is not safe from Reddit-bestowed ridicule. And good going:
For the lot of them, Reddit is your source. If infamous, ol’ Tinder is losing its luster, have some fun with Double!
