The Picture Was Uploaded from ISS November 15

Kelly’s picture was taken from the south-western direction, with India’s southern coast in the eastern part of the image. The faded yellow color of the landscape is minutely interrupted by city lights, making for a gorgeous view quite a ways away.

The caption on the picture read: ‘Day 233. Once upon a #star over Southern India. #Goodnight from the @space_station! #YearInSpace.’

The ISS has been getting a series of repairs, which featured Kelly’s very first spacewalk, to get some of the equipment adjusted or upgraded. For a station so far away, the ISS has sure been garnering a surprising amount of attention.
