Hello Barbie owners have a good reason to be concerned after the latest news from Bluebox. Bluebox is a security firm and they have explained how the new Barbie doll may have many kids privacy invaded. After this news, Barbie might have to bow out to Princess Elsa for the dominant female kids figure.
BLUEBOX EXPLAINS THAT HELLO BARBIE IS SPYING ON KIDS
This news is the most important to all the parents in the world whose kids own a Hello Barbie doll. The researchers at Bluebox have revealed that the cloud server that is connected to the doll can allow hackers to view any recordings that have been made between the doll and the children. This is not the biggest issue, though. The fact that hackers can access private messages will not cause that much harm. That is not saying it is OK for them to do this, but another researcher announced a much more critical issue. Matt Jakubowski stated that he has found an issue that could allow the hackers to find where the doll owners are located. Hello Barbie was certainly not intended to be a villain.
TOYTALK STATES THAT THIS ISSUE IS EASY TO RESOLVE
The good news is that the makers of this Barbie, ToyTalk, have stated that these issues are easy to fix. However, they did state when they created the doll that they were happy and satisfied with the security that was implemented. Apparently, it was not good enough. More good news though is that the company has announced that there have been no hackers as of yet that have invaded any children.
PARENTS SHOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT HELLO BARBIE
As mentioned earlier, parents should be the most concerned about this. Children around the world probably do not even understand the consequences of some of these issues inside the Barbie doll. Now, parents will have to think twice if they want to purchase this for their child. They might want to consider switching their child from Barbie to Princess Elsa at this point. Princess Elsa dolls are available and they might be the better and safer choice.
