Apple always seems to produce and release the top of the line devices. They are always competing with the best products out there, but it appears they finally have a product that they struggle to make. Given that they are one of the leaders in making smartphones, producing high-quality charger cables is important. However, this is the problem as Apple’s Lightning cable is simply not good.
APPLE’S LIGHTNING CABLE IS DISAPPOINTING
The Lightning cable is Apple’s charging cable. This cable is necessary for users to re-charge their iPhone or their iPad. The issue is is the cable does not have a long shelf life. A reviewer of this Lightning cable online pointed out that he had eight Apple devices in his house for his family. He said that not one of the charger cables lasted. Sometimes people can receive a faulty cable. That kind of stuff happens, but all eight cables is not a coincidence. Apple pleases their customers with the best of the best when it comes to smartphones so it is surprising to see them fail on something as simple as a charger cable.
THE LIGHTNING CABLE IS NOT CHEAP EITHER
There is no way to get around needing a charger cable. Yes, there are third-party Lightning cables that are compatible with Apple devices, but they are still needed none the less. Apple has their replacement charger cable listed as $19. Some people may look at $19 and think that it is not a big deal. However, paying nearly $20 for a simple charger cable seems to high. Some third party charger cables will probably be cheaper, but they will most likely be more brittle as well.
THE LIGHTNING CABLE NEEDS TO BE BETTER
Apple needs to make this cable better. For customers to have to re-purchase a charger cable every couple of months is ludicrous. This is especially considering that Apple is very respected and customers expect better. Apple needs to listen and fix this problem immediately.
