Microsoft has finally revealed that they are ready to release their Cortana App to the public. They have been beta testing this app for quite a while now. However, they announced that starting December 9th it will be available. It will be available for iPhone phones, Android phones, and the Windows 10 companion app.
CORTANA FOR IOS 9.2 AND WINDOWS 10 FINALLY LAUNCHES
There has been a lot of hype for Cortana. Cortana is a voice command device that acts as a virtual assistant to users. Microsoft has announced it is launching Cortana for iOS 9.2 as well. They say that not much new will come that was not in the beta version. Microsoft has also stated that there will be a little difference between the Android and Apple versions of Cortana.
They mention that Android users can use the Hey Cortana command. This command allows them to shout out commands that the user would like Cortana to do. Text updates can also be sent to users Windows 10 PC’s. This is where Apple users have the disadvantage. They state that the iOS is not open enough to have this happen. It will be interesting to see if Apple would ever decide to do that to give the users this advantage that Android has.

As of right now Microsoft has only stated that two countries will have access to Cortana. That is being the United States and China. They said that it will eventually make its way to other countries. However, they have given no word on when that could be. For now, people outside of the US and China will have to wait and see when they can get their hands on Cortana for iOS 9.2 and Windows 10, as well as Android.
