Sony is currently working on a way to improve the current generation of lithium-ion batteries. This new super battery is being worked on as we speak, and could be in production within the next five years. This got us thinking how cool it would be to see this super battery apart of Project Ara. Not only this but how the Motorola Display and Apple Design would make Project Ara even better.
SONY ANNOUNCES NEW SUPER BATTERY
This news was announced by Nikkei, a Japanese newspaper. This super battery is being made by Sony to replace lithium-ion batteries. A 40 percent gain in density could be in the making for this battery. The details are very raw at the moment, but that is easy to understand given that this might not be done for five years.
THE SHATTERPROOF MOTOROLA DISPLAY
Now we look at a potential inclusion into Project Ara that is already available to the mass public. The Motorola Display on the Droid Turbo 2 is shatterproof and waterproof. The company actually guarantees that the Motorola screen will not be damaged by impact or water. During their launch, they actually showed a video of the phone being dropped on a cement block. The screen came back unscathed.
THE GREATNESS OF THE APPLE DESIGN
The Apple design on their phones is always great. The latest iPhone is actually built with 7000 series aluminum alloy. This makes it the strongest alloy made in any iPhone.
WHAT PROJECT ARA IS AND WHY THESE THREE ASPECTS WOULD BE A GOOD ADDITION
What this is all getting to is Project Ara. For those of you who have no idea what this is, it is a build it yourself smartphone. This means that you would receive a starting phone with no features, and then put them in yourselves. So, you can put in custom cameras, screens, batteries, and anything else you can think of. This is a project done by Google with help from Motorola. Now, imagine this phone adding features like the new super battery from Sony. How about adding the aluminum alloy design from Apple? Then, it can be capped off with the shatterproof and waterproof display from Motorola. All of these would be a great addition into Project Ara. As a matter of fact, if all companies worked together the world could see the greatest smartphone known to man.
