I thought hoverboards were only accessible in the 2015 version of Back to the Future! ARCA Space Corporation has a new one, the ArcaBoard, and amazingly enough, it is more expensive than the Volkswagen Jetta! Just what is this new piece of hardware, or vaporware, that ARCA has in store?
A LITTLE INFORMATION ON THE HOVERBOARD ARCABOARD
The ArcaBoard hoverboard will allow people to hover in the air. This is no scam telling people they can float, they can with this board. The ArcaBoard uses its 272 horsepower and 36 electric fans to power its upthrust. This allows users to actually fly in the air with it. So, how on earth do you steer this hoverboard? Well, ARCA states that users will use their smartphone to steer it. This board will take around six hours to re-charge. The problem is, is that the batteries on the board will only last around six minutes.
VOLKSWAGEN JETTA FEATURES
To give an idea on why it is so amazing that the ArcaBoard is more expensive than a car like the Volkswagen Jetta, the Jetta must be talked about. This car has loads of great technology inside of it. It has built-in Driver Assistance systems, a touchscreen sound system, and even a touchscreen navigation system. Safety is also a big aspect to the Jetta. It has a blind spot monitor, a rear traffic alert system, a park distance control system, an adaptive cruise control system, and a forward collision warning system.
VOLKSWAGEN JETTA AND HOVERBOARD ARCABOARD RESPECTIVE COSTS
The Volkswagen Jetta can be purchased for the starting price of $17,680. However, the ArcaBoard comes in at $19,900. So, a six-minute hoverboard is more expensive than a full model vehicle? That is very interesting indeed. There is no doubt that this hoverboard is very unique, but should it really be more expensive than a brand new vehicle?
A HOVERBOARD MORE THAN AN AUTOMOBILE?
This just seems unreal to be honest. Now, the official release of this hoverboard is not set. This could end up never actually hitting the market, but if it does this price might not make it a success. Some people will no doubt be curious on how this device works. However, I do not think many people will be curious enough to spend around $20,000 for it. All in all, though, this hoverboard does sound pretty fantastic.
