Tesla is giving drivers some more incentive to buy their cars with a limited time offer sale while Apple is putting turbo speed into making the Apple Car. Is it finally time for Apple to get in the game?
One More Reason to Get a Tesla this Winter
Tesla is making it possible for drivers to lease a Model S for only $698 per month. The limited time offer only applies to the Model S 70, which is the most affordable version of the electric car.
The Model S 70 is powered by a 70-kilowatt hour battery pack. Drivers have the option to get an 85 or 90 kWh battery packs. The car also features rear-wheel drive. The starting price for this car is $71,200, which includes a $1,200 destination fee. This estimate does not include taxes. The car’s range is 230 miles and goes from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. Its top speed is 140 mph. Drivers have the option of adding a dual motor all-wheel drive system and a performance package for a higher price.
This sweet deal has a few footnotes that need to be considered. The $698 offer only applies for drivers looking for a three-year lease, with an annual cap of 10,000, 12,000 or 15,000 miles. The deal also requires a $6,393 at signing. The cars will be delivered in March.
Meanwhile, Apple Zeroes in On Their Own Commercial Car
Rumors about the upcoming Apple Car are on fire, even though the company hasn’t confirmed anything. New speculation suggests that the driverless electric car will be headed our way faster than expected.
Reportedly, the Apple Car is codenamed Project Titan. Apparently, there are very concrete talks going on between Apple and Daimler. Driverless and electric cars are the new trend and consumers are attracted to them. If there really is a partnership forming, it’s very possible that Mercedes-Benz sales will increase exponentially in the US.
Steve Zadesky Might Be Leaving Apple and Project Titan
Reports are declaring that Zadesky, who has been a part of Apple for more than 15 years, is leaving the company. He worked as part of the team that created the iPod and the iPhone before becoming the alleged head of Project Titan. This could be a major setback for Apple, but they might bring in another expert to develop their autonomous electric car.
