Known for their stiff competition over the years, Samsung and Apple have seemed to make amends. At least for the time being. In a recent showing of compassion, the companies have been working together. Is this a showing of teamwork or just another discrete mission of self-improvement?
SAMSUNG HELPS USERS SWITCH TO IPHONE
The title says it all and yes, it is true. Samsung is helping its users switch to their smartphone rival, however, it is not entirely how it seems. The organization has released a wide array of wearables and peripherals that they are looking to support. They aim to do this through new applications on the iPhone. While this is great news for the overall connectivity of consumer electronics, it doesn’t necessarily bode well for the future of Samsung smartphones.
APPLE WELCOMES NEW USERS WITH OPEN ARMS
The Samsung mobile division is already in a hasty decline. Estimated sales are down and consumers are starting to look for a switch. Fortunately for the iPhone, the road for change basically leads to its front door. By releasing these new apps on iOS, consumers can essentially make a direct route to purchasing an iPhone. Gone will the barriers be for those wanting to move to a new device. Now that iOS will support their applications, the decision is already made for them to make the move. On top of all this, Apple has another trick up their sleeve. Standing at the front door with a warm invitation inside is their “Move to iOS” application. This app helps new users export data with ease, making for a clean, trouble-free transition.
DOES APPLE ADMIRE SAMSUNG?
While they are certainly pleased with this recent development from their competitor, it’s tough to argue that Apple actually admires them. Appreciative? Certainly, but admiration may be the wrong word. Neither company is doing particularly well at the moment. iPhone sales saw their first dip ever this year and Galaxy sales were way below the expected forecasts past holiday season. Teamwork does seem like the logical move here but one can only imagine that Apple aims to stay on top.
