Yahoo is Back on its Feet; Google May Start Getting Worried Soon

Detective Dot Clapway

Everybody loves a good revenge flick. The Revenant, Die Hard, A Bug’s Life (think about it). Yahoo seems to take inspiration from these films because they are far from dying off anytime soon. Google should be worried as their problems may be coming back from the grave to kill them off.

FACING IDENTITY CRISIS, YAHOO CHANGES FACE

Sometimes, if something just isn’t working out, you either fix it or die a stubborn old man. Yahoo has fortunately seen the light of their woes and aims to reinvent themselves. This is going to come in the way of their analytics arm. The previously known Yahoo Labs is now rebranding itself. Perhaps inspired by Google, the newly created research department will be responsible for breaking fresh ground in the online and technological realms.

GOOGLE’S SIMPLE PHILOSOPHY USED AGAINST THEM

A large part of Google’s success has been their simplistic interface and philosophy. Recently, they have started to dip their hands into a lot of different ventures. While it hasn’t hurt them yet, other companies are flourishing in the wake of their success. Unlike Google, Yahoo is stripping down their operation. The bulky company once used to mingle with sports, lifestyle, news and more. Going off the saying “quality vs. quantity” Yahoo has decided to limit their portfolio to three platforms: Mail, Tumblr and Search.

THERE’S A NEW CONTENDER IN SEARCH ENGINES

No, I’m not talking about Bing. It’s fairly certain their reign will never come. Google’s reign, however, may be limited. With old companies rebranding themselves into something fresh and sleek, it seems the leading search engine may not be on top anymore. Monopolies are never good for the economy anyway, and technology is no different. Pressure from competition always ignites creativity. This beautifully crafted story of rebirth will surely bring about some interesting results. A good comeback tale never fails to. Will the Mountain View giant continue its dominance or will the Sunnyvale underdog comeback from the grave and claim what was once theirs. The ever enthralling opera of California tech never ceases to entertain.
