Supercharger Exploded Tesla; is Nissan Leaf Next Clapway

Remember that New Year’s Day fire that sent a Tesla Model S up in flames while at a Supercharger station in Norway? Yeah, well many others have forgotten about it too but the case has not only been opened back up, it’s been cracked. It looks to be that electricity was the cause of death for this particular Tesla. Oh, the irony. Will this lead more to buy a Nissan Leaf, or is that too only awaiting a similar misfortune?

SUPERCHARGER FOUND GUILTY FOR KILLING TESLA

The illustrious search in finding the murderer of a certain Tesla Model S on New Years day 2016 in Brokelandsheia, Norway is now over. This cold case has been confidently cracked. The culprit? A Supercharger. Thanks to the Norwegian outlet VG,  they reported a fire on this fateful dead originated in the electrical distribution box. In this box contained the very Tesla that we speak of. This Model S was enjoying a peaceful rest at a Supercharger station when the box ignited. Tesla Motors has chimed in saying the destruction was an isolated incident. One can only imagine the owner wished they had a Nissan Leaf at the time.

SOFTWARE PATCH ISSUED AMONGST FIRE

Telsa has assured us that they are issuing a software patch in order to combat the problem. The patch will be adding additional layers of security that will halt the Supercharger if the data shows any signs of short circuiting. For those thinking this error will only hinder the success of electric cars in Norway, fear not. Norway has told VG that there is no reason to be overly dramatic. Using logic as their trusty weapon, Norway has said there is no reason to show that electric cars are more prone to fire than anything else. In fact, electric cars like the Model S and Nissan Leaf experience far few fires than any gasoline or diesel-fueled vehicles.

NISSAN LEAF OWNERS SHOULD NOT WORRY

Do not believe any of the fear mongering articles produced by big oil. Electric cars are safe and the Nissan Leaf is no more dangerous than the Model S. The Supercharger Fire of 2016 should in no way be an indicator of the future of electric cars. Nissan Leaf batteries are highly regarded for their quality build and sustainability. So don’t go locking your doors, selling your stock for electric cars and buying a Hummer H2 just because you think it’s safe. Living in fear is no way to…live. Instead, enjoy that 200 or so mile drive you’ll get from a single charge with your Nissan Leaf.
