Macbook Air 11 is 'Officially Dead', Apple Surprised Fans Clapway

Do you love your 11-inch MacBook Air? Too bad. It’s now dead. According to circulating rumors, Apple may be discontinuing the 11-inch variety. However, the 12-version may be getting 13-inch and 15-inch variants.

APPLE GOES OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW

According to the popular Mac rumor site 9to5 Mac, Apple may be killing off its small 11-inch models of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. Perhaps in lieu of spring cleaning, this move will free up space for some newer models. The newest 12-inch MacBook pro may soon get some bigger brothers. Reports are saying two new variants will be introduced. Among these are the 13 inch and 15 inches. While this will certainly make Apple fanboys happy, it’s also rumored that the Air lineup may be ending entirely, but not until after 2016.

MACBOOK AIR 2016

In terms of a release date, one can expect MacBook Air to launch at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The event is scheduled to take place June 13-17, 2016 and should include some anticipated Apple announcements.  The newest “Air” is expected to be 13 inches in size and come in a variety of CPU options.

BIGGER IS BETTER

The rumored 15-inch variety marks Apple’s first shot at making a bigger Macbook Air. It is said that the bigger models will be powered using the latest Skylake chips. Also included will be the Thunderbolt 3 port along with the USB Type-C for a faster charge. As far as Macbook Air’s go, it seems that the tech giant believes bigger is, in fact, better. However, in the realm of the iPhone, they are looking to scale thing down. The 4-inch iPhone SE shows the company aiming towards the budget conscious and the size observant. As we get closer to the date of WWDC, keep your eyes peeled on more rumors squeaking out.
