For all the compliments that iPhone’s have received in the past, its the camera is not usually among them. Sure, it’s decent and allows for one to post their Shake Shack burger on Instagram easily, but it’s certainly nothing compared to Canon and Nikon. However, now that Apple is rolling out the 4k video, those companies may me losing some business.
ONIONS AND NPH HELP OUT IPHONE
Here’s some advice to those looking for a career in advertising. If it doesn’t involve onions, Apple or Neil Patrick Harris, you’re going to have a bad time. At least, that’s what seemed to work for the latest iPhone ad. In the one video called “Onions“, the 4k video was front and center. The ad shows a young girl taking a video of her mom cutting onions. Quickly, the clip goes viral. Not in real life, but the. Stay with me here folks. The message of this is that the iPhone has so much to offer in 4k video, that not only will it compete with the likes of Canon and Nikon, but it will make one’s videos go viral instantly. The icing on the cake is the beloved Neil Patrick harris who awards the girl for her 4k efforts.
CANON FEELING THE HEAT
If the iPhone doesn’t kill Canon first, they might just commit suicide, According to a Reuters report, their first quarter had a steeper than expected fall. Operating profits fell 39 percent in Japan. This is mostly due to the office equipment market getting weaker but an overall slower global sale of digital cameras isn’t helping Canon either. Before, Canon could at least use the excuse that they were better than smartphone cameras, but that could soon change. Nikon, on the other hand, is looking to embrace the change.
NIKON BLENDS IN
Instead of trying to compete with the iPhone and Android advancements in technology, Nikon feels they should blend in instead. The company has just released its SnapBridge sharing app on Android with plans for iOS devices late. By becoming a part of the system, Nikon hopes they can still profit without having to fight the impossible battle against it. The technology in smartphones will only continue to advance. Those in denial will be disappointed.
