Do you have any family on Mars? With SpaceX aiming to commercialize travel to the Red Planet, you may have a relative there soon enough. Internet service providers may take some time to break into the Mars Wi-Fi market, so you may be stuck with snail mail. Or “rocket mail,” as SpaceX plans to begin mail service to Mars in 2018. That’s right. You will be able to send stuff to aliens for roughly $60 million. Is the private space company secretly sending mail to Mars aliens now? Will Russia and China purchase some rocket space for a 2018 Mars delivery?
SpaceX Destroys FedEx
Elon Musk announced payload plans for those interested in sending Martian-bound packages. This Red Planet delivery service will coincide with the SpaceX unmanned mission to Mars in 2018. Payload weight can range between nine and 30 pounds, and prices between $60 million and $90 million. The SpaceX mission has always been to make space travel more cost friendly, however, they have now revolutionized space mail.
Falcon 9 Post Marked Mars
The SpaceX mail delivery service will rest on the shoulders of the Flacon 9 and Flacon Heavy rockets. There is even a discounted plan available for those who are interested in multiple payload contracts. This could be enticing to governments like Russia and China, since their Mars launches aren’t scheduled until 2020. NASA and the U.S. will surely be sending a few items to the Red Planet with future colonization in mind. However, will SpaceX be allowed to accept payloads from Russia and China? Especially since nearly half of the private space company’s funding comes from NASA.
Wait a Minute Mr. Postman, Aliens are Waiting
SpaceX offering up 2018 cargo “space” on the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets seems a bit ambitious, even for Elon Musk. There could have already been Mars deliveries made, and aliens on the Red Planet may have been the recipients. Do you know what’s actually on the Martian planet? Neither do I. We only know what NASA tells us, and Martian aliens would most certainly be left out of any press release or Curiosity selfie. SpaceX may have already sent secret space mail to aliens in a show of good will. Goodwill that could open lines of communication over Martian resources. Do you think aliens exist on the Red Planet?
