Researches: We are Characters in Aliens Computer Game Clapway

At times, the world surrounding us feels so surreal, that it’s almost like we are just characters in a video game created by aliens. As wild as that idea may sound, researchers are beginning to ponder that very notion. Even Elon Musk is on board.

TESLA CEO SAYS THAT HUMANS ARE FAKE

Earlier in the week Elon Musk released a strange concept to the world. According to him and other researchers, we are all just characters in some advanced society’s computer game. Whether that means aliens, gods, or mythical beings is uncertain but there’re some interesting ideas behind it. Musk isn’t alone in these thinkings. He got the idea from Nick Bostrom, a well-known philosopher from Oxford University. In 2003, he published his ideas regarding the simulation argument, organizing them into three parts. One of which is true.

ARE WE COMPUTERS?

According to Bostrom, a few ideas regarding our existence are possible. First off, almost all civilizations at our current rate of growth will go extinct before creating the technology  of hyper-realistic video games. Secondly, civilizations that have developed this are generally uninterested in simulations. Lastly, Bostrom says that it’s possible we are all characters living in a simulation. The verdict is still not out for Bostrom and other researchers. At the time, there’s not enough evidence to rule out those three ideas. Meanwhile, others think if this is worth taking seriously at all.

IT SHOULDN’T MATTER IF ALIENS CONTROL US

Although the idea certainly sounds radical, philosophers think this theory is worth a good ponder. That being said, the thought living in a video game controlled by aliens shouldn’t be anything to worry about. If aliens created intelligent, conscious characters inside a video game, which we are living in now, it wouldn’t be much different than some god creating us. It might come to be that simulation and reality are basically the same things. So, go ahead and laugh off the aliens idea but technically, there is no way to prove that you are a simulation or not. Alternatively, please don’t go looting every store and acting reckless. Whether you’re real or not, actions still have consequences. A simulated jail cell won’t be any better than a real one.
