Content delivery network Akmai Technologies has just bought network security firm Bloxx to bring cloud based security to the market by next year.
The Massachusetts network company hopes to use Bloxx to offer enterprise cloud security in the future in order to protect corporate networks against phishing, malware and data exfiltration attacks, hopefully by 2016.
Akmai was also recently named lead investor in the $27 million funding round of ClearSky Data, which makes a product for company data storage in tiers based on the specific company’s needs. The company’s previous cloud security investments include FireLayers and Rubicon Layers, as well as network startip Saguna.
