Blizzard presented a promotional banner on their official website that alluded to Overwatch being released in the summer of 2016 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is rare for a Blizzard produced game to be released on anything but a PC because they are usually exclusive to PC.
WHAT IS OVERWATCH?
According to Blizzard, Overwatch will be a multi-player first person shooter and in the current era of video games another first person shooter is no surprise. It is said that Overwatch, or Overwatch Origins Edition, will come with 21 playable heroes and five different skins. Blizzard also mentioned that a huge emphasis is being put on cooperative gameplay using the cast of different heroes who will all have their own unique abilities and roles within the team. Although there has been no official news of it yet, it can be assumed that this game will also put a great deal of emphasis on online play. This is not a guarantee, but in this current era of video games it would be completely mind blowing to not see a game have a detailed online system. Fans of the FPS, first person shooter, genre that want to play a FPS with more of an emphasis on multi-player should be excited and thrilled when this game finally launches.
WHEN IS THIS GAME AVAILABLE?
As mentioned earlier, it was reported that a banner on Blizzard’s official website hinted that this game would be released in the summer of 2016. That banner has reportedly now been taken down, but reports across the web have still indicated a release of this game within the first two quarters of 2016. However, it should be noted that game companies sometimes push their games back if they feel more work needs to be done. Fortunately as we speak this estimated time is still accurate. According to retailers in the United States, it has been noted that Overwatch will be released at a retail price of $60. That is usually around the price that games launch for nowadays. Blizzard will most likely provide more details in the coming months about Overwatch to get their fans even more excited. The good thing for fans of the PS4 and Xbox One is Blizzard is finally releasing a game with a good amount of hype on their systems. That is something that did not happen very much, if at all, in the past.
