Google Chrome has officially announced that they are removing a feature that they deemed useless. Google announced in October that they were going to be removing their Chrome desktop notification center. They launched this feature back in 2013 and they have said that not very many users were using it.
GOODBYE GOOGLE CHROME DESKTOP
Basically, Google is saying that they got rid of this feature because nobody really cared about it and that it was a nuisance. They have stated that they believe that removing the Chrome desktop notification will end up streamlining Google Chrome. However, they have announced that they are not disposing of notifications altogether and they are going to be using web notifications. Google basically stated that they wanted to make it so their users who use Google Chrome can tailor it to their personal interests.
WHAT GOOGLE CHROME 47 IS FIXING
Not only has Google announced that they removed the desktop notification in their newest version of Chrome, but they also mentioned some updates. The web notifications that were mentioned earlier are also going to have the option of dismissal. Basically, Google stated that they wanted to avoid cluttering the user’s screen with constant notifications. The last thing the Chrome update did was add splash screens that will make the loading process improve.
GOOGLE CHROME CONTINUING TO RECIEVE NONSTOP ATTENTION
Google is certainly right to keep dishing out the updates for their Chrome browser. In this author’s view, Google Chrome is the best web browser in the world and no others even compare. Obviously, that is a huge matter of opinion, but it can not be debated that Google continues to improve Chrome. The fact that this is now their 47th version of the browser pretty much says it all. This proves that Google acknowledges their problems and fixes them.
